It Is Settled

As we reflect on the past Easter season, it’s important to remember that Easter is not just a holiday, nor merely a time of tradition. Though the word “Easter” has Germanic origins, for us in RCCG, this season is deeply spiritual. It aligns with our annual outreach program "Let's Go A-Fishing", where we passionately share the gospel and the boundless love of Jesus Christ to bring souls into the Kingdom of God.

While meditating on today’s message, the Lord opened my heart to a few contrasting perspectives about how people treat this season:

DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES

  1. To the secular mind, this is the time to pick up extra shifts and earn that “time and a half.” But scripture reminds us in Ecclesiastes 10:19 and Ecclesiastes 5:10 that money, though necessary, does not satisfy.

  2. Proverbs 17:17 reminds us: “A friend loves at all times.” True friendship is tested in times like these. Ask yourself: Are your friends true? The Word says, “Make sure thy friend.”

  3. Some may treat the season lightly, using it to relax or hang out with friends. Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 tells us there’s a time for everything — even rest — but we must be careful not to forsake what this season truly means.

  4. And then there are the personal justifications — your own specific ways of viewing this time. But the important question is: Are these perspectives aligned with the resurrection of Jesus Christ?

A PROPHETIC APPEAL

In the spirit of 1 Kings 1:12, like the prophet Nathan, I come with a heartfelt appeal. The Lord dropped these five points into my heart for you, dear brethren:

1. Confess and Believe That Jesus Is Lord

Salvation starts with the mouth and heart: “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” – Romans 10:9-10

With God, nothing shall be impossible (Matthew 19:26).

2. Make Jesus Your #1 Priority

Christ must be your ultimate pursuit. Let NOTHING take His place.

“Seek ye first the kingdom of God…” – Matthew 6:33“I will very gladly spend and be spent for you…” – 2 Corinthians 12:15

Let’s learn from David’s costly mistake in 2 Samuel 24:24 — God desires sacrifice, not convenience.

3. Never Turn Back From Following Jesus

Don’t compromise your faith. Keep pressing on.

“Forgetting what is behind… I press on.” – Philippians 3:13“In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart!” – John 16:33

Let not your heart be troubled. (John 14:1)

4. Be a True Witness of Jesus

Tell people what Jesus has done in your life. Speak boldly.

“These men testify what they have seen and heard…” – Acts 24:20, Acts 5:32, 2 Timothy 1:8

5. Be Addicted to Soul-Winning

Soul-winning is wisdom. It’s a divine command and a heavenly priority.

“He that wins souls is wise.” – Proverbs 11:30“Go and make disciples…” – Matthew 28:19

FINAL WORDS

Jesus is coming soon:

“Behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me…” – Revelation 22:12-13, 20“Even so, come, Lord Jesus.”

Praise the Lord. Have a blessed and fruitful week ahead.
